We had an amazing experience with our trainer, Amanda. When we first adopted/rescued Holly, she was very jumpy, mouthy, and pulled on the leash to no end. The system which we learned with Off Leash K9 and the e-collar revolutionized our relationship with our 50 lb German Shepherd mix. They have a very effective way of training us humans to communicate with our dogs. While I was just looking for a better behaved dog, I ended up with a more confident pet that can actually safely be fully off leash!

We dropped off our dog for two week board and train while we were on vacation. Shout out to the trainer Desi for sending us plenty of photos, videos and daily updates on his progress. We felt reassured that he is doing well. I love that they do the board and train and is staying at trainers house rather than crated somewhere all day and only allowed out for a few hours per day. Our dog seemed very happy and definitely learned a lot We would definitely use Desi again for boarding or continue training refresh in the future

Amanda trained our pup, Mashed Potatoes, for the 2 week board and train and it made such the difference!!!! Not only did it make a difference when we got him home, but he’s continued to maintain good habits and behavior (as long as we do). I was nervous about an e-collar at first, but after feeling it and seeing how well he responds and how he has maintained his training- those nerves were put to rest. I would highly recommend anyone to use them for your dog. We got updates all the time which helped while he was away and it’s been a night and day difference since he returned. This is the first time I have a dog I feel comfortable with off leash knowing he will respond to my commands and it’s from their training program. Would definitely recommend.

Desiree was excellent with our Maggie girl! Maggie is very mischievous and has a lot of energy, but with Desiree and K9 off leash trainings help Maggie now LISTENS to us and is great on the leash. Maggie is so much better! Thank you Desiree and team!

Justin and Desi did an amazing job with our two younger bully mix pups. They go above and beyond, are super patient with the dogs (and us), and care so much about the fur babies. They are super knowledgeable and give great advice. Just a few lessons made a huge difference. Highly recommended.

Dogs may be pets but really, they’re our children . This is why I’m so glad I can personally attest to how well they care for the dogs in their facility. The environment is 100% dog focused, with only positive reinforcement and loving energy, which is something I truly value. There are no cages unless absolutely necessary (barely ever) and each dog’s specific personality, temperament, and needs are tended to with more care than I’ve seen at some daycare facilities for human babies.

If you want to know how your dog’s day was, they’ll find the exact person who cared for them to give you a detailed report. They pay attention to their stress levels to foster the most serene environment possible for the pups.

There is no other place I would take my dog or recommend to other fur parents!

Rüfus has been “going to school” at BLDHTX since fall 2023. I love this place (and I’ll keep saying it throughout this post)! They only accept fir babies under 35lbs. Rü is a lil guy so this made me feel good. They do an eval on the first visit to make sure he is good to go, and that he’s got the basic social skills to be in this type of environment. BLDHTX is cage-free so they get to run and play and are not separated from each other. It teaches them/improves their social skills. You’ll see posts on their IG of their day. There’s many fur kids there so just keep an eye out for your baby! The do super fun activities with the fur kids from special enriching treats, to activities like art (yes, art!). They host themed birthday parties for the fur babies too! You can pick a theme from so many options! They do photoshoots (yes, photoshoots!) for special occasions or just because. So far Rü has done a Chinese New Year, July 4th, and tomorrow is the “new view” photoshoot. I love it! Obvs from the pix you can see that they also offer grooming services which is super convenient. They take their time with him. He gets a little stressed with the nail trims but they’ve always been patient with him and I pay a small amount more for him to have the time he needs. As you can see, they do a great job! He recently completed Level 1 training. Such a HUGE difference! They sent a weekly update with what they’ve bene working on with Rü so we can continue with the lessons at home. He’s such a good dog! He’ll be starting Level 2 soon (check website for all their training options)! This past summer we went on a short vacation and boarded Rü at BLDHTX. I felt 100% comfortable knowing that he was in familiar place, with familar people and he was with all his fur friends! They don’t kennel them, ever. So it’s like a big slumber party. Someone is always with them, or more depending on how many pups they have. BLDHTX posted updates to my account and pix so we could see how he was doing. Did I mention that they’re the best?! Other points: you can bring lunch for your pup, they have 1/2 day options, they clean/sanitize their entire facility regularly, they have cooling pads and misting fans for the Houston summer/fall/spring. Overall, so very pleased with these humans…oh..the humans! They are ALL SUPER AWESOME humans and they will love on your fur baby! They aren’t just “baby sitting”. They interact and play with the pups too. This is a special place! You won’t be disappointed with BLDHTX.

The Best Little Dog House in Texas is literally the ultimate!

As a new dog parent I was overwhelmed by all of the things that come with Mini Australian Shepherds in the puppy phase and BLDHTX has been the sole reason why I have survived to the point of thriving. They have treated my little Madden like a part of the family so here are some notes of celebration if you are considering a one stop shop for small dogs:

TRAINING
My first month with my puppy Madden ws tough as I waited for him to cross the vaccination window finish line. He hated the crate he would cry no matter how many treats I used, and he was absolutely stubborn on the leash. The Puppy Kindergarten was clutch – he learned sit, down, and stay and they even did some crate desensitization that changed the game for me and I could finally leave the home without feeling horrible. I enrolled him in leash training and I received videos to reinforce the training at home and Aaliyah is a MASTER. My dog is not only walking without the drama while on leash but he has gotten much more confident on leash and off when we are in open areas. It was worth every penny!

DAYCARE
I work from home and my puppy is a tornado during the day so I cant always give him the attention that he needs and give him spaces to burn off all the puppy energy. BLD is clutch! Its clean, my dog loves it and they upload photos and videos of the fun.

GROOMING
My pup gets really nervous with baths and they give you tips to get your dog acclimated and you get a grooming report card so you can see the progress.

ENRICHMENT
Aussies need both exercise and mental stimulation and in addition to puppy play BLD offers these really cool enrichment activities like pay painting, card making with lick mats, and plenty of cool themed birthday parties

BOARDING
The first boarding experience was anxiety inducing because I was so worried about whether my dog would be okay after never having spent the night away from me. He ended up loving it! Slept through the night and the no crate sleep arrangement was perfect for him. I even got a cute “Puppys First Sleepover” photo.

COMMUNICATION
I was really impressed by communications overall – if there is an issue (like random diarrhea for example) you get a phone call, the online reservation system is great and you can keep track of the schedule, changes and all the cool update photos they take 🙂

I took Madden to 3 places locally for assessments and we landed on BLD because they have it all and their service standard is incredible. 5 STARS!

We absolutely love The Best Little Dog House! Our sweet baby Murdoch is a shy and nervous pup and we were initially unsure how she would handle a daycare/boarding facility. The team here immediately put us at ease! Every dog must undergo a 4 hour temperament test to ensure that each dog feels secure and safe prior to acceptance into daycare or boarding. The staff are so friendly and you can tell they absolutely love what they do. They have always been very accommodating to our pup’s needs and even give you comforting “update photos” while you are away for extended periods of time. Not to mention the adorable themed parties and photos that occur throughout the year!

In addition to their daycare and boarding services, we have also taken advantage of their grooming team and couldn’t be happier!

This facility has truly lived up to its name for our family! Your pup will thank you for putting them in the watchful care of The Best Little Dog House.

I recently called in beyond the dog for the bad fighting habits of my English bulldogs. By the grace of god they gave us Lindsey. Taking on not one but three English bulldogs was not a task for the weak but she saw it always with the best attitude and gave not only guidance but love to our pups. In the middle of our sessions one of my pups became ill unfortunately leading to her passing. It was so tragic. Lindsey came in our home and hugged and treated us as her own family. The entire beyond the dog family is truly so great sending flowers and letting us take time to grieve. We will never forget the love and patience shown by sweet Lindsey! So knowledgeable and trustworthy! We love beyond the dog!

We had the best experience with Beyond the Dog and our trainer, Lindsey! Astro, my 8 month old shepard/husky mix, needed help with reactivity towards strangers and cars, leash walking skills, and getting comfortable with car rides so he was enrolled in the all inclusive training program. Lindsey worked so much better with Astro than I could ever hope for. With Lindsey’s guidance Astro almost completely stopped reacting towards bystanders sharing the same sidewalk, was able to go on walks during busy traffic hours without fear, and his hesitation towards car rides has greatly reduced! He freely enters the car as soon as the door opens as opposed to resisting with even muscle in his body. I loved seeing how much Astro enjoyed the training sessions and how he was excited to see Lindsey every time. He had this visible change in excitement with uncontrollable tail wags and bunny hops when he would see her. Lindsey was able to work on specific behaviors that transformed Astro into a more confident and attentive pup! I also appreciated how she would send me photo updates during the training sessions. Best of all, Lindsey was more than accommodating to my ever fluctuating schedule when it came to follow up sessions. She always reminded me that she is just one text away for any questions or concerns and that support and commitment to Astro is unmatched!! He also loves his custom bandanas. Thank you, Lindsey!! 🙂

When we contacted Beyond the Dog, we were at the end of our rope with our 9 month Goldendoodle, Percy. He wouldn’t listen to us at all and was actively destroying our house. Things changed so quickly the moment we got plugged in with our trainer, Shyenne, from BTD. She immediately understood our concerns and started working with us on solutions. The progress we saw in just a month of their program was nothing short of a full transformation. Percy is now very well behaved: no more counter surfing, no more jumping on guests, no more destroying the furniture. And he has mastered his basic commands and immediately listens to us when commanded. He’s a different dog in the best way.

Shyenne was amazing to work with. She made herself available to us outside of training and was always just a text message away for questions. It felt like she personally invested in us and Percy’s progress, and we are so thankful to gave found her! Percy also obviously loves her and is extra well behaved the moment she walks in the door. We are picky about who we leave our animals with and have never had a doubt about Shyenne. We will continue to work with BTD as needed for our golden guy and will come to them for all future pups.

I highly recommend Beyond the Dog and our trainer, Shyenne! From the first consult with Dr. Kristyn Savage, owner and certified applied animal behaviorist, I knew we were in the right hands. Not only did Kristyn and Shyenne offer a science-based approach to address Molly’s behavior, they both showed compassion for the stress Molly’s issues were causing our family.

Our 15-month-old rescue dog, Molly, struggled with severe hyper-vigilance, barking, and reactivity (on and off leash). We were frustrated and overwhelmed, but Shyenne’s expertise changed everything. She not only trained Molly but also taught us the behavior modification techniques we needed to support her. I had the unique opportunity to shadow Shyenne during sessions, which helped me quickly learn the pairing process and implement it at home.

The weekly notes were invaluable, allowing my husband to stay involved and practice with me. Over 22 sessions, Molly’s reactivity on walks dropped from 100% to less than 5% and we gained the confidence to manage any challenges. Molly is now a much happier, more confident dog, thanks to Shyenne’s expertise. This training was a worthwhile investment, and I couldn’t be more grateful!

Beyond the dog is great! Abby helped us with our pup who was having a hard time adjusting to an apartment life as a rescue. Through her great skill, knowledge, and patience Abby completely changed our dog! Within just a couple of weeks he went from being uncontrollably reactive to every person and dog to a well behaved pet of the month! We went from trying to avoid other people and dogs to having a great time in the dog park! He is a completely different dog and is so much happier and so are we. Thank you guys!

When we decided to adopt a puppy from BARC, one non-negotiable was getting professional training to give her the very best start in life possible. BIDT is right down the street so we signed Poppy up for Puppy Class (where they would train us ).

Kate was an excellent teacher and very quickly, our little girl was responding to what we all learned. We added Puppy Day School and the amazing trainers took her learning to a new level. With their positive, energetic approach, she gained so much confidence around people and other dogs. By introducing her to so many different situations and stimuli, she has developed into a happy, well balanced five month old. She walks well on a leash, ignores barking dogs we pass and has a host of behaviors we need and love for all of us to be successful in this endeavor. As an added benefit, our training and the resources provided are helping us problem-solve as various situations arise.

Every team member at BIDT has been wonderful. It’s no wonder Poppy adores them all! We are so appreciative of the positive start we’ve been able to give to Poppy thanks to BIDT. Thank you!

Our first dog came here over 6 years ago, and now we have our new puppy enrolled. I’m extremely pleased with the Puppy Day School (PDS) and Group Class at Stephanie’s BIDT that our puppy Bridgette has been attending. Our group class instructor, Valerie, is fantastic and makes training enjoyable and productive.

Their program offers much more than basic training. Starting Bridgette young during the critical socialization period has yielded great results. She benefits from exposure we can’t replicate at home, such as interacting with various trainers, exposure to novel stimuli, and playing with different puppies in a safe, controlled environment.

Combining our home training with BIDT’s comprehensive approach—including PDS, group classes, and the provided homework—has led to remarkable progress. As someone who enjoys training my dogs at home, I can confidently say that BIDT’s resources and expertise have significantly boosted our dog’s confidence. At 4 months old, it’s already been fun seeing her navigate trails at state parks.

I highly recommend BIDT to anyone looking to raise a confident and well-socialized dog.

We have done two different training group classes (Adult Intermediate and Fitpaws)at Believe in Dog and have absolutely loved it as much as our pup. The mental stimulation and chance to build positive relationship with our pup is well worth it! The staff is friendly, informative, and supportive. Lily has been our trainer and she is amazing! Her love for dogs and helping build that connection with their owners is clearly evident and her patience is infectious. We will definitely be looking for more classes as they have a diverse range of classes.

I brought my pup to school here, which I highly recommend, but the experience goes beyond just the training. Stephanie’s boutique is fantastic, offering a wide range of toys that are more than just fun—each one is carefully selected to promote enrichment, interaction, and mental stimulation. Every “toy” serves a specific purpose, and everything I’ve bought has been both beneficial for my dog and enjoyable for her. Even if your pup isn’t enrolled in school there, you can still visit the boutique, where the staff will help you find toys that support corrective behaviors, keeping your dog entertained and engaged at home, while also giving you some peace!

Lo mejor que tiene Paula es que desde que entra por tu casa, observa la situación y hace un diagnóstico super rápido. En una clase en dos horas aprendimos a cómo jugar con el, a corregir las mordidas, a darle de comer y que esperara a la señal e incluso salimos de paseo y pudimos entender cómo sacarle.

Hace dos meses contacte con Paula por la situación que tengo dos perros (uno de un año de tamaño grande y otro de nueve de tamaño pequeño), la situación era muy horrorosa, ya que el de 9 años se creía el rey de la casa y líder.
Llegaron a pelearse ya que el de 9 años siempre había estado sola toda su vida y que venga uno recientemente y grande no le hacia mucha gracia y siempre le intentaba atacar al otro
Con la ayuda de Paula me ha hecho abrir los ojos ya que era mas nivel de liderazgo y con las pautas a seguir han mejorado bastante los dos.

Houston Dog Ranch is heaven on earth for dogs! I am keeping my son’s golden retriever while he is out of the country in graduate school. Butters was having issues being around other dogs, so I booked a private cabin with its own yard to board him a few times when I had to leave town. Each time everyone on the staff was super helpful and very polite, and HAPPY! These people love what they do.

I knew he needed extensive training, so I enrolled him in their 3 week program. His trainer, Sarah, was amazing. She is a true professional and very good. She had him doing things I didn’t think were possible and by the end of training he was running free with other dogs having the time of his life! He is now a proper gentleman. I’m excited to take him out and about around Houston and my son has peace of mind knowing that he will be okay around other dogs. Many thanks to the entire team at Houston Dog Ranch!

We have 2 new rescue huskies that desperately needed training. We corresponded primarily with Jeff whose communication is better than excellent. He truly cares about the success and outcome of the experience and will go the extra mile to ensure a positive outcome. The whole team at Houston Dog Ranch is outstanding and the property is a dream. We had a wonderful experience there with our two dogs and highly recommend it to anyone looking for dog training/boarding.

This beauty was rescued running injured through the hot summer streets. She was scared of everything and everyone. Her anxiety and fear expressed through aggression and super scary barky bursts. It made walks way more dramatic than any of us needed. HDR did amazing work with her to remove the anxiety and help her navigate the world without so much fear. The facilities and grounds are beautiful. Their staff is what really sets them apart. We gave them a cranky fear floof and they gave us back a happy well mannered dog. She’s so much happier after six weeks of training. She misses Sarah and her HDR family. So, play days and boarding visits are a must. Thank you for all you’ve done for our happy gurl!

We’ve been working with Michael to integrate our newly adopted dog with our older dog. When we first contacted Michael we were in crisis mode, the dogs were acting aggressively towards each other and we were afraid we wouldnt be able to keep our new dog. We have seen great results in just a matter of weeks. We couldn’t be happier! Both dogs are responding very well to the training and exercises Michael has taught us. It has been a huge relief for us as a family to see the dogs getting along and not having to worry about them fighting. We look forward to continued success and we would recommend Michael to anyone with a dog. He is able to help us humans understand dog behaviour and learn how to make positive changes.

I contacted Michael after my 2 year old husky had bitten myself and someone else, had issues with resource guarding, and exhibiting a lot of unpredictable behaviors. I had also contacted MANY other trainers before deciding that Michael’s methodology and kind/patient approach were the best fit for me and my dog. My dog was a rescue, and when we got in in April it was very obvious that he had aggressive tendencies that my ‘old-tried-and-true’ methods of dog training I’d used for my other 2 dogs just weren’t cutting it for Axel (my husky). I was constantly worried that he would try to bite at me or someone else. I couldn’t ever leave him with anyone else because without knowing his VERY subtle cues of going up the stress ladder towards aggression, then they were likely going to air-bitten at or worse, actually bitten. I was at my wits end when my dog and I started training with Michael because of the stress of the unpredictable aggression coupled with the other very predictable aggressive tendencies he had.

This training is not a ‘quick fix’ and won’t happen over night, but it IS a long term solution! I realized that after a month into my training, I wasn’t seeing the results I had hoped for and that was all for myself to blame. This training will take time on your part as the owner, it will take mindfulness to examine what you’ve always done vs what Michael has taught you to do instead, and it will take patience! The expertise and training that Michael teaches is not just for your dog, it’s for YOU. Intentionally implement what he teaches you and you are sure to see the results! (don’t be lazy like I was the first month!!)

This training has equipped me with the tools, resources, and confidence to continue my dog’s training and better his behavior in the safest, most effective way possible. I was a bit of skeptic when the training first started, but believe me, after putting in the work and utilizing all the resources Michael shared with me, my dog is practically a different dog (and I’m a totally different owner)! My experience, I feel, has been a particularly special journey because of my dog’s unusually stubborn attitude and lack of interest in food as a motivator. On top of aggression, these hurdles are HARD to work around because treats and attitude are what you target to train new behaviors! Michael is an EXPERT at what he does though. After lots of conversations about figuring out what will motivate my dog, Michael helped me find solutions and new methods (while still holding to his methodology) that have actually worked for me and my dog.

This is not a one-size-fits-all training regimen! Michael is capable of working with and finding solutions for you, your environment, and your dog. Every dog has their own uniqueness about them- that’s why you love them so much- and that’s what has blown me away about this process. If you are on the fence about using these training methods, take it from me, they WILL work. Utilize your 24/7 access to Michael (he’s full of all sorts of knowledge, tips, and resources even for the smallest questions you may have!) and I promise, every you penny you spend will be well worth it after you’ve gone through the process and have experienced the transformation for yourself. No doubt, you and your dog will appreciate and respond well to the way Michael teaches you both!

I too, like many other dog owners, read every review about all sorts of trainers and spent countless hours on the phone with training centers. When I first read all of Michael’s reviews, I thought “surely, no one is this good at what they do…” He really is though! I have not had one bad experience through this entire process and will continue to recommended and pass along his contact information to anyone who will take it. Your dog will thank you and you will feel confident, as the owner, in your training and techniques after working with Michael!

I cannot tell you how much this training has changed our life! Michael has been an amazing resource and a wonderful tour guide in understanding why my grandsons dog may have acted out. He has taught my family and our beloved dog so much about patience, triggers, and how to live together successfully. My seven year old Springer spaniel has gone from angry and scared to lovable and obedient. This dog bit my grandsons face requiring medical treatment and I wondered if he could ever be whole again. Through this training both my grandson and our dog are becoming whole again. Much love and appreciation to Michael! If you are experiencing behavioral issues with your pup, I cannot recommend Michael enough.

In February 2023, I adopted a 4mo super-mutt rescue. But, within a single day I found she was incredibly anxious about high stimuli environments, a terrible trait for a puppy that had just been brought into a noisy city apartment on a busy intersection.

After some research, I found Michael and explained the situation to him and we began immediate training through communication on an app as well as scheduled puppy zoom sessions.

I had been incredibly stressed about this situation and genuinely feared my sweet pup, who was an angel inside my apartment but terrified of everything beyond the threshold, would never be able to adjust, and my stress was apparent through my communications with Michael. But he always responded with compassionate advice rooted in patience and backed with resources.

Now, after three months of hard, patient work heeding his advice and steps, my sweet girl now faces her new world with a confidence I never thought possible, going from never wanting to be outside, to now actually whining when I’m ready to go back inside! With her anxiety and fearful tendencies subsiding, she’s able to truly let her personality shine through and finally allow herself to really be a dog now! We still have a ton of work to do but the difference over these three months is frankly hard to believe.

Thanks to Michael, my dog will not just tolerate, but actually enjoy the busy city life!

Soon after rescuing this girl we realized she had not been properly socialized she had a lot of fear and anxiety. separation anxiety and was highly lea reactive, she didn’t even know what a walk was.With the tools Michael gave us along with books & product recommendations and lots of patience and work it has been such a pleasure to see a calmer dog emerge and I don’t have the anxiety taking her on walks like I had. I highly recommend working with Michael because he also helped us understand where our dogs fears and reactions were coming from which is very important. And like I said it does take a lot of patience and daily work but the results are so worth it!

Mike and his team at Stealth K9 are fantastic. My Belgian Malinois Petey came home to me yesterday and I’m floored. I just came home from running errands this morning. FOUR different people commented on how well behaved he was. The first pic is Petey in his “down” command at a BBQ restaurant. The second is Petey holding his “place” command while I’m on the couch, and I promise you he’d rather be on the couch. I couldn’t be happier with Stealth. If you love your dog, call them today!

I have a husky/ 4wk offleash training. Bella picked up everything fast. I was so impressed with her training. I came in 1x for a refresher for myself (not Bella). Once Mike and the staff helped me with commands I started getting results. The videos only show a fraction of what Stealth K9 capabilities are. I will definitely recommend them. If you think twice you thought wrong. This is the place.

Financially Mike even helped me with finding options that worked with my budget and lifestyle.

My Aussie Mix had an unexpectedly long stay here. The place is clean and nice. Mike was quick to correspond with me in a timely manner. That way I knew how she was doing and when we (kids and I) could visit Maysie. I worked directly with Mike from beginning to end. Very kind, patient and knowledgeable. I recommend this place for training and/or boarding. Thanks again, Maysie thanks yall too!

Dawn really helped me get a great start with my new puppy! She also gave me some great suggestions on doggy day care where my puppy loves to go!

Dawn was amazing in helping me learn how to work with and train my older 90 lb rescue. Her patience and quiet demeanor definitely worked for Buddy and me. Her recaps of our sessions which she would send during our mid-week check-in, helped me tweak what I was learning to accomplish and were very helpful. Buddy and I both adored her which was a huge bonus in our growth. She was always available for a chat/email/phone call if needed in between sessions to help address any new situations that would arise. I highly recommend Dawn! She is experienced in training all types of dogs (& their owners), including those with trauma. Thank you Dawn for helping me nurture Buddy’s loving and gentle personality, and teaching him manners so that he can enjoy a family lifestyle.

We are so glad that we were referred to Dawn. We have two dogs and one of them was very aggressive towards the other without being an aggressive dog. With her hands-on approach and using positive reinforcement, Dawn was able to significantly reduce the aggression, and we can now bring both dogs together without the fear of serious injuries. There is an ongoing effort on our part to improve the situation, but Dawn put us on the path of success.
Aside from her professionalism, Dawn has a very pleasant personality and is very easy to work with. We recommend her 1000%.

Dawn is an amazing dog trainer! When I started working with Dawn, I had two adult Catahoula males that would bark and slam my front door the minute someone knocked on it. After just a few sessions my dogs learned how to sit, stay, politely wait when someone is at the door, and properly wait to greet visitors when they enter my house. Dawn uses positive reinforcement training that works well for my dogs. Dawn is amazing at what she does and I recommend her to anyone looking for a trainer.

Dawn is the best pet sitter we’ve ever had. Qualities we love about Dawn: reliable, trustworthy, communicative, enthusiastic and most importantly she loves animals!!! Dawn always shows up on time. She communicates with us to confirm pet sitting engagements and she lets us know every time she visits our dog and sends pics of the visits so we feel connected to our dog while we are away.
