Dogs may be pets but really, they’re our children . This is why I’m so glad I can personally attest to how well they care for the dogs in their facility. The environment is 100% dog focused, with only positive reinforcement and loving energy, which is something I truly value. There are no cages unless absolutely necessary (barely ever) and each dog’s specific personality, temperament, and needs are tended to with more care than I’ve seen at some daycare facilities for human babies. If you want to know how your dog’s day was, they’ll find the exact person who cared for them to give you a detailed report. They pay attention to their stress levels to foster the most serene environment possible for the pups. There is no other place I would take my dog or recommend to other fur parents!

Rüfus has been "going to school" at BLDHTX since fall 2023. I love this place (and I'll keep saying it throughout this post)! They only accept fir babies under 35lbs. Rü is a lil guy so this made me feel good. They do an eval on the first visit to make sure he is good to go, and that he's got the basic social skills to be in this type of environment. BLDHTX is cage-free so they get to run and play and are not separated from each other. It teaches them/improves their social skills. You'll see posts on their IG of their day. There's many fur kids there so just keep an eye out for your baby! The do super fun activities with the fur kids from special enriching treats, to activities like art (yes, art!). They host themed birthday parties for the fur babies too! You can pick a theme from so many options! They do photoshoots (yes, photoshoots!) for special occasions or just because. So far Rü has done a Chinese New Year, July 4th, and tomorrow is the "new view" photoshoot. I love it! Obvs from the pix you can see that they also offer grooming services which is super convenient. They take their time with him. He gets a little stressed with the nail trims but they've always been patient with him and I pay a small amount more for him to have the time he needs. As you can see, they do a great job! He recently completed Level 1 training. Such a HUGE difference! They sent a weekly update with what they've bene working on with Rü so we can continue with the lessons at home. He's such a good dog! He'll be starting Level 2 soon (check website for all their training options)! This past summer we went on a short vacation and boarded Rü at BLDHTX. I felt 100% comfortable knowing that he was in familiar place, with familar people and he was with all his fur friends! They don't kennel them, ever. So it's like a big slumber party. Someone is always with them, or more depending on how many pups they have. BLDHTX posted updates to my account and pix so we could see how he was doing. Did I mention that they're the best?! Other points: you can bring lunch for your pup, they have 1/2 day options, they clean/sanitize their entire facility regularly, they have cooling pads and misting fans for the Houston summer/fall/spring. Overall, so very pleased with these humans...oh..the humans! They are ALL SUPER AWESOME humans and they will love on your fur baby! They aren't just "baby sitting". They interact and play with the pups too. This is a special place! You won't be disappointed with BLDHTX.

The Best Little Dog House in Texas is literally the ultimate! As a new dog parent I was overwhelmed by all of the things that come with Mini Australian Shepherds in the puppy phase and BLDHTX has been the sole reason why I have survived to the point of thriving. They have treated my little Madden like a part of the family so here are some notes of celebration if you are considering a one stop shop for small dogs: TRAINING My first month with my puppy Madden ws tough as I waited for him to cross the vaccination window finish line. He hated the crate he would cry no matter how many treats I used, and he was absolutely stubborn on the leash. The Puppy Kindergarten was clutch - he learned sit, down, and stay and they even did some crate desensitization that changed the game for me and I could finally leave the home without feeling horrible. I enrolled him in leash training and I received videos to reinforce the training at home and Aaliyah is a MASTER. My dog is not only walking without the drama while on leash but he has gotten much more confident on leash and off when we are in open areas. It was worth every penny! DAYCARE I work from home and my puppy is a tornado during the day so I cant always give him the attention that he needs and give him spaces to burn off all the puppy energy. BLD is clutch! Its clean, my dog loves it and they upload photos and videos of the fun. GROOMING My pup gets really nervous with baths and they give you tips to get your dog acclimated and you get a grooming report card so you can see the progress. ENRICHMENT Aussies need both exercise and mental stimulation and in addition to puppy play BLD offers these really cool enrichment activities like pay painting, card making with lick mats, and plenty of cool themed birthday parties BOARDING The first boarding experience was anxiety inducing because I was so worried about whether my dog would be okay after never having spent the night away from me. He ended up loving it! Slept through the night and the no crate sleep arrangement was perfect for him. I even got a cute "Puppys First Sleepover" photo. COMMUNICATION I was really impressed by communications overall - if there is an issue (like random diarrhea for example) you get a phone call, the online reservation system is great and you can keep track of the schedule, changes and all the cool update photos they take 🙂 I took Madden to 3 places locally for assessments and we landed on BLD because they have it all and their service standard is incredible. 5 STARS!

We absolutely love The Best Little Dog House! Our sweet baby Murdoch is a shy and nervous pup and we were initially unsure how she would handle a daycare/boarding facility. The team here immediately put us at ease! Every dog must undergo a 4 hour temperament test to ensure that each dog feels secure and safe prior to acceptance into daycare or boarding. The staff are so friendly and you can tell they absolutely love what they do. They have always been very accommodating to our pup’s needs and even give you comforting “update photos” while you are away for extended periods of time. Not to mention the adorable themed parties and photos that occur throughout the year! In addition to their daycare and boarding services, we have also taken advantage of their grooming team and couldn’t be happier! This facility has truly lived up to its name for our family!
