This review is specifically for the skilled nursing facility. What a mess – missed medications, left in bed for 14 hours each night, nonexistent communication. Unfortunately I feel many others are actually worse and that’s the scary part.

*** this next section was written after the Bucking ham replied – I generally don’t like or leave long-winded reviews but felt I needed to expand based on their reply ****

I have texted Maria and sent two emails. (not today, yesterday) All have gone unanswered. She did have a conversation with here in our late 3rd week of being there. She told me that it was required my state regulation to have a meeting with 48-72 hours of admission to discuss current state, prelim PT plan and even prelim discharge goals – that meeting never occurred. We didn’t even know there were social workers., or their purpose until the third week. We visited our mother *every* day – we were accessible and not absentee family. We had *zero* meetings with your social workers in almost 5 weeks of her being there. One meeting did get scheduled (in the third week after we ambushed the soc workers in their offices) only to have the social worker not show up to that meeting. She said the Buckingham had “failed” – her word. She talked a good game but after such an admissions failure, she let the discharge process fail just as grandly.

Over the last 3 weeks I have also left multiple voicemails for Faith, Gloria and Ashley (Ashley is in admissions) – no one returned my calls.

My mother takes 5 prescription medicines – 3 of those are Afib or Blood Pressure related. We were discharged with several days of 2 medicines, 1 day of another and none of the the other two. I received 4 calls in the week prior to discharge, all asking me what pharmacy. Well, we went to that pharmacy at 3:30 Pm on the day of the 10:30 AM discharge. None were called in. We had her primary care physician call them in late in the day.

I didn’t intend on getting detailed in this review, only what I intially wrote. If you’re going answer with the same line I got many times of “oh, please call so-and-so” only to find they never return any calls”, then sure – we can discuss this in more detail. I meant what I originally wrote – you’re probably far from the worst of these places and that’s what’s scary.

You sure answered this quickly – like within an hour. If you channeled that type of effort to the patients/residents maybe things would be better.

This is a wonderful “Retirement Community.” The Staff Members are very personable and very professional. During the recent Hurricane Beryl event, the Staffers did an extraordinary job of ensuring the Residents were safe and well-protected from the external effects of the storm. Our mom recently moved to the Village of River Oaks Assisted Living. It’s a pristine facility nestled in a beautiful neighborhood of Houston where the staff is warm and caring and the residents are very welcoming. It’s been a wonderful experience from our first visit. The onboarding staff is fantastic and has a keen attention to the needs of every resident aiming to make their new home comfortable and pleasant. Not only is the facility tastefully decorated, it is bright and inviting and offers the care that mom needs and a variety of activities that appeal to a community with a wide range of interests. From the very first conversation with Lori, she was truly helpful and in action immediately. I had less than 2 weeks to find a care home for an 83 yr old elder with Parkinson’s and dementia and within 2 days I had appointments at 4 places, the next week got him moved into one that turned out to be great fit.
The process was all new to me, I knew nothing and Lori did a great job at helping to educate me and alleviate some of the stress of moving an elder into a care home for the first time.

The doctor took 2 minutes looking at me after breaking down in front of her she told me I had the breakthrough I needed
I’m no longer on depression medications it was a huge uplifting feeling to be able to regain my 5 senses, my meds made me numb to feelings I couldn’t shed 1 tear not a single drop at my grandma’s funeral.
I want ALOT out of life I want to be capable of working, driving meeting new people have great stories to tell and be a better person for it
I even started attending church again after years and years of stuggling with society I finally feel accepted again

La doctora tardó 2 minutos en mirarme después de que termine a expressar mis sentimientos de todo frente a ella, me aviso que tenía el descubrimento que necesitaba de mi.
Ahora gracias a dios ya hamas estoy tomando medicamentos para la depresión que sufri, fue una gran sensación edificante poder recuperar mis 5 sentidos, mis medicamentos me hicieron insensible a los sentimientos. No podía ni llorar una lágrima ni una sola triste gota en el funeral de mi abuela.
Quiero MUCHO de la vida Quiero ser capaz de trabajar, conducir, conocer gente nueva, tener grandes historias que contar y ser una mejor persona por ello

The first time I stayed here it was very nice and clean the lady at the desk gave me 30 days for free from April 30th to may 30th of 2023 they would give out free meal every now and then when I went back in October of 2023 it was nasty wasn’t the same they were letting the people stay there run it to the ground and trash it but the manager the thick black lady is cool and she for the people

I really like all the help I got from this place. The lady at the window where you pay your weekly rent is reallly rude. I had a seizure once when I lived here and she said if I have another “fit” I’d get kicked out. I don’t know what she meant by “fit” but when I have a seizure they are psychogenic and I can’t help when it happens. I’d doesn’t occur anymore and I was told I could return when I wanted. Luckily I have turned my life around and I’m doing better. But that woman is extremely rude

Very poorly ran facility that needs a complete restaffing in the front area.
Very rude staff as well as cold showers and no heat/too much heat for the guests. The men living there deserve the amenities included and to be treated decently. I chose to be unemployed and homeless rather than to work for this company!
Harmony house is a very misleading name when the year old building is falling apart and there is nothing harmonious about this environment!

As a fairly new residents our experience has been very positive. Residents are always treated with dignity and respect by all members of the staff, service is exceptional. Management is very responsive to the inquiries, requests and the needs of the residents in a timely manner. The building, apartments and grounds are well maintained. A major contributing factor to our decision to live here was the presence of the emergency generator which provides power to the whole building in the event of the loss of commercial power. This was proven to work well during the past 2 storms when the power was out all around us and we continued to function normally.

When we walked in for our appointment with the Marketing Director Lolly Erwin, we were greeted with a sign that said, “Welcome to your new home Dolores”. We rolled our eyes and then a few hours and delicious lunch later we were taking our pictures with the sign! The facilities are beautiful and we feel the price is very reasonable for the first class value. Mom can’t wait to move in!

My sister, mother, and I met with Lolly Erwin last week. She gave us a full tour, answered all of our questions, and had lunch with us (which was delicious!). We thought the one-bedroom was perfect for mom, with new quartz countertops, appliances, and flooring. The residents seemed welcoming, and mom can’t wait to get moved in and meet more of them and take part in the many activities.

A special group dinner in the private dining room for birthday celebration of a mutual friend … It was a lovely setting, the food was very delicious and the menu options were incredible! The service people were friendly and fun and their service was fantastic. Every part of the experience was perfect and all in our party are looking forward to doing this again. KUDOS to all the staff from the reception attendant, dinner service people, chef and top management, all of which looked in on us to see if anything more was desired.

I have made the best decision of choosing FirstLight Home Care to take care of my husband. The caregiver they provided to us, Jhon, is amazing. He is very nice, reliable, and, energetic. He is willing to do anything that we ask him to do. FirstLight Home Care has given me a peace of mind knowing that my husband is in a good hands.

I got to know FirstLight Home Care West Houston through VA Hospital, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Linh, a care operations coordinator from the office, came over to visit me and checked on me many times. The caregiver, Carol, that they sent to my house was wonderful. She was always on time, very cheerful person, and also a good cook. I wish I could have her 5 days a week.

I have been using FirstLight Home Care for more than 4 years for my wife and I. Namita, the administrator, and the rest of her team are wonderful. All of the caregivers that they sent to my house are very good. Veronica, Shazia, Amanda, Anahi, and Ana are very good caregivers. They take good care of my wife. They are always busy. Especially Veronica, she is a good cook. She knows how to cook Indian food for us. That is very helpful.

Been meaning to write this for years but held off in hopes of improvements being made. This is one if the most disgraceful, disgusting organizations and should be shut down for negligence of not only the seniors but the staff as well. Horrible so called human being in charge of our most precious groups, seniors. Delaying medications, keeping OLD meds and giving expired ones to seniors. Leaving them soiled due to underpaid super stresses staff. The corporate office is SO INCREDIBLY IMCOMPETENT and borderline SADISTIC in their treatment of their staff and no I’m not a former employee, I’m a frequent visitor an avid notetaker of the failures in this facility. I reached out, left voice-mails, sent emails to no avail they just do not care aboutmaking the necessary changes . This place is a money grab, possible avoid sending your loved ones to this horrendous facility, no matter the location.

This facility is amazing. I work with the staff medication aides and I am always impressed with their knowledge and friendliness. They know the residents they care for and work effortlessly to meet their needs. The facility itself is very clean and well taken care of. The food always looks and smells amazing! And the leadership is very present and involved in the day to day out on the floor. The nurses are kind and attentive to not just residents but partners like myself. I am in facilities all over Texas and this facility is one I would entrust to care for my own loved ones.

Great facilities! Great food! Great staff! Memory program is helping my dad. My dad enjoys the field trips. My 93 yo DAD LOVES living at Belmont.

I like Belmont- West U because of its convenient inside the loop location near the medical center and VA hospital. Everything my dad needs us nearby.

My Uncle has been a resident at the Belmont for the past year and a half. We were very blessed to have had the help of all of the staff to make his transition from the hospital to the Belmont seamless. As I live and work in Dallas, many of the details had to be taken care of by phone or email. It was a great comfort to know that they were there to help in any way possible.

He is doing much better now, and I attribute a part of this to the Belmont staff. It is a great relief to know that he has all of his meals prepared. (He says the food is quite good!) He enjoys the company of other residents and occasionally joins in the community activities they provide. He is provided with transportation to any doctor visits, his laundry is done, and his room is the perfect size for him.

Living in a different city, all of these things mean the world to me. The few times that there has been a problem, they get in touch immediately There is no business that hasn’t experienced challenges in the past couple of years. The Belmont continues to make improvements and changes for the better and that’s what counts. I look forward to my next trip to visit him as they treat family members very well!
