Obsidian Theater

Amazing theatre. Amazing shows. Amazing casts. Amazing crew. Everything about this theatre is amazing. I saw Evil dead the musical, the last five years, and a Drag Christmas Carol here. Such an intimate space.

Such an awesome little theatre! Definitely check this place out if you have the chance. The group did an excellent job with their performance too, so I highly recommend this place

Great little theatre gem in a big city like Houston. I was able to get tickets from a third party (goldstar) and the tickets were fairly priced. When I arrived 20 minutes before the show there was plenty of parking. Everyone on the staff was very friendly and helpful. We were able to exchange to tickets to sit together with out any problem. They do have a limit bar menu with mainly beers, ales and wine all for donations. They also had a small selection of snacks like chips and candy bars. Seating was great! Not the most comfortable seats in town (I have a wide behind) but a very good view of the stage. Audio at times got loud but i was able to hear everything very well during the performance. Bathrooms are very tiny with only one stall per restroom so the line forms instantly. There are lots of other places to eat and drink around the theatre so it makes it a perfect date night spot to catch a show and diner.

Space was clean, show was good. The seat spacing was so tight I was afraid to relax as I was very close to my neighbor. If she had been a man or large woman, we would have been touching at the shoulders. Despite that, I would definitely recommend this venue. I had a good time.

This place is great. The shows they do are always fantastic - great eye for unique productions. Great acting. Only downside is that for musical productions, which many are, the voices can sometimes out-sing the small venue, making them hard to understand. The 1-Star reviews seem to be almost unanimously “we were late to the show and they wouldn’t seat us. They should put a disclaimer on the ticket. Then they won’t annoy customers who didn’t know they had to be on time.” Get real. This is not a Pearl Jam concert. There’s no opening act. The show starts at the time printed on the ticket. If they put a disclaimer about no late seatings, you’d find some other reason to blame them for the fact that even as grown-a** adults, you can’t manage your time well enough to be somewhere 10 minutes early. They also all seem to come from one incident and I would presume one group of friends who decided to team up to take down the Obsidian.
