The librarian at the front desk helped me upgrade my library card to a nicer one and was very friendly. The 2nd floor librarian was also really nice and helped explain how the layout of the library was organized. I'm used to libraries being sectioned up by genre, but this one was alphabetical with genre identifying stickers on them. She also gave me recommendations for fantasy books and some YA and middle school level series. I wanted to explore the whole building, and talking about books for younger audiences made me want to browse the YA section. As soon as I got to the 3rd floor, the librarian asked me if I was an adult. After I said yes, she told me my place was the 2nd floor and basically threw me out of the 3rd floor. I understand safe spaces for kids are important, but I was kinda disappointed at not being able to browse the teen section. I'm assuming popular YA novels like the hunger games, divergent, and uglies would be in that section and are all books made into movies that I would think are reasonable for an adult to read and enjoy. Plus, what if I were getting a book for a child or a sibling at home? Overall, I liked the library, but I could've done without a librarian "putting me in my place." If you plan on reading any YA as an adult, don't count on it. And if you happen to need anything from the 3rd floor, bring your kids because they will ask you to leave if they are not with you.

Great spacious library with kids and teens having their own floor! We’ve been enjoying this library for years even before they were closed down due to water damage from the storm. I’ve never had a problem with the employees here UNTIL my kids and I came in today (Friday February 3rd at 2:30pm) of course there is no one here because most kids are in school (my kids are homeschooled) so there was only my kids and ONE other kid with his dad. I was literally watched the first 20 minutes we were there (a lady with glasses was working this shift. I signed my kid on one computer and checked out several books (still being watched like a hawk) I went up to the lady to ask her for a guest pass/code to sign up on a second computer. I was asked “DO YOU HAVE A LIBRARY CARD? umm you just watched me check out books and sign my daughter into one of the computers. So I responded “how do you think she’s using that computer “ and pointed to my daughter then I was quizzed again about what school is my son enrolled into. MIND YOU LAST TIME WE CAME WE WERE NOT ASKED NONE OF THIS! My son was just given a guest code to use the computer. Then this woman tried to act like she just realized I had 2 kids even through it was just my kids and one other kid there!! Just absolutely ridiculous. Be prepared to be profiled and quizzed if you’re a minority!

Outstanding library. Clean, organized, helpful staff and safe. All you'll need is a TX driver's license to get a library card (we're from out of town) or pay around ~$20 if you have an out-of-state one. I've been able to read a lot of books while I was here and find titles that I didn't think we're going to be available.

Storytelling disaster! First time I go with my girls they told me it was cancelled next time they didn’t let me in because one of my daughters was a few months older and told them please let me in this time since I have no where to leave her and I don’t want my toddler to miss out we went specially and she still insisted that we had to leave, heartless and mean and btw place was empty my Older 4 year old could have stayed with me quiet in the back. So we had to leave AGAIN. Terrible terrible experience.
