Jake Emery at Facet Seven - The Best Trainer at the Best Gym
I’ve been training with Jake Emery at Facet Seven in Houston Heights for a year, and I can confidently say this gym is the best in the area. Facet Seven has an amazing workout culture—it’s welcoming, motivating, and filled with people who are genuinely committed to improving themselves.
Jake has been an absolute game-changer for my fitness journey. Over the past year, I’ve lost over 50 pounds while gaining muscle mass and strength. His approach is tailored, challenging, and supportive, pushing me beyond what I thought I was capable of while always ensuring proper form and technique.

I have had several personal training coaches but if you want a knowledgeable and effective personal trainer, Coach Jake is the one for you. I have been working with Coach Jake for 3x a week for 6 months with amazing results. I am stronger and I have gained more muscle. He has pushed me to new levels and it has been amazing. He works with all levels of fitness, communicates well, and is very patient when we are trying something new. He is quick to make adjustments for my fitness level which I really appreciate. He also is well versed in nutrition which has really helped me. Also, Facet Seven Heights is a great gym. The staff and members are very friendly and it is a fun atmosphere. I highly recommend Jake as well as Facet Seven Heights.

I cannot recommend John Nguyen enough! His expertise, dedication, and personalized approach have completely transformed my fitness journey. I am a former body-builder and no stranger to fitness/gym but did have a lot of mobility issues going on. From my initial assessment, John took the time to understand my pain point areas, and create a tailored movement regiment.
Every session with John is both challenging and motivating. He knows how to push you just the right amount while making the workouts worth the sweat equity. I always felt like I was a unique case and I appreciate his patience and willingness to see my mobility improve. It’s been a little over a year with John and my body is able to move pain free!! My wife has not heard me complain about pain after my workouts since I’ve been with John. I am truly grateful for meeting John and changing the landscape of how I train in the gym.

I joined Facet Seven Heights two years ago as part of a long-term plan. I have always been an active person, doing different sports and weightlifting. However, as I entered my fifties, I thought it would be good to transition to bodyweight strength training, like calisthenics, that I could continue doing as I age.
Knowing I needed assistance, I found Facet 7 while looking for a trainer. After filling out a form and a brief phone interview, I was perfectly connected with Coach James. His unique training style that mixes calisthenics, mobility, and strength helped me to learn my first basic skills and reach my objectives. In our sessions, he cautiously pushed me to my limits and beyond and helped me to prepare for other fitness challenges that I was part of during this time ( two MS 150 bike rides and a 260-mile gravel bike ride between Florence and Rome).
Facet Seven management is always looking for ways to improve the facilities and give us more options. The coaches and support personnel are friendly and helpful, which creates a constant positive environment. The gym is great; it is always organized and clean, with good and updated equipment available.

I’ve been working with John for two years now, and he’s made an incredible difference in my fitness and overall well-being.
