I rescued a 6 year old Boxer named Roxie in Dec. She has leash aggression. I worked previously with 2 trainers and had no positive results. Luckily found Alpha Obedience. Within 2 sessions, Roxie has made great progress thanks to Katie. She is very patient and understanding of Roxie’s issues. She explains in great detail how things should be done to correct her behavior. I finally have hope to be able to take Roxie for a walk in the near future without worrying about her behavior on leash. Thank you.

We are so excited after just one appointment working with Katie! She helped us get our 9-year-old dog (Beagle) to walk on a leash past our driveway. She has been so afraid of leaving our house that she would knock us down pulling to go back inside. Now we are able to not only go on long walks, but to walk/control her by holding the leash with just our thumb! We can't wait to see what more we can accomplish! Thanks, Katie!

This review is 3 years late posting. Katie is such a nice, helpful person. She helped me with some questions I had regarding house training our puppy over the phone before I had even signed him up for any courses. That's a person who truly cares. Three years later we have an addition in our fur family and we reached out to Katie again to help with training. Our new dog is a very strong golden doodle who we were not able to walk comfortably because of his aggressive pulling. Walks with the dogs became stressful and a dreaded chore. In comes Katie to the rescue. We can now loose leash walk our dogs together and it has turned our walks into a pleasant time outdoors again. Katie knows her stuff when it comes to dog training. We highly recommend her and will be using her again to get our dog comfortable in our pool this summer. She is truly a rock star dog trainer and teaching us to be able to walk the dogs pleasantly together has been truly life changing in the best possible way. Thank you Katie!

My family had high hopes for training our new puppy with Katie from Alpha Obedience Dog Training. We were excited after finding their great reviews online and looked forward to working with them. However, our experience took an unexpected turn. We contacted Katie in January 2023 and had our first session on 1/23/2023. Although we expected to train our puppy in a park, Katie preferred to train indoors due to the cold weather. This change was acceptable to us. However, our first session had issues. Katie arrived over 30 minutes late, despite initially stating a 5-minute delay. Furthermore, she brought a young child (a minor) without prior mention. While her contract allowed personnel to enter our home for training, we didn't anticipate a minor's involvement, considering our puppy was a small and young miniature poodle. We didn't express our concerns at the time, wanting to assess the situation further. In preparation for the second session, I asked Katie to change our training day to Fridays at 12 p.m. She agreed, but the second session brought more delays. Katie was late by over 10 minutes and arrived with the minor again. This inconvenience disrupted our schedule, as we had an appointment afterward. My husband expressed his dissatisfaction with Katie's tardiness and her bringing the child, highlighting her unprofessionalism and the possible liability associated with involving a minor. He shared his perspective as a business owner who values clear communication and respecting clients' time. Katie offered extra training time due to her lateness, but my husband noted that not all clients could accommodate such extensions. He also expressed discomfort with the minor's involvement due to the puppy's age and size, as well as our concern for my elderly mother's health. Given these issues, my husband proposed terminating the contract and seeking a refund for the remaining sessions. Despite his honest feedback, Katie declined the refund based on her policy. While she wasn't pleased with his input, he believed in transparent communication and respecting customers' time. No training occurred that day. I reached out to Katie later, aiming for a resolution. I indicated our discomfort with the minor's presence and my mother's health concerns. Despite our differing views, we agreed to suspend training until Spring 2023, aiming to continue in a park setting when the weather improved. As time passed, the stress caused us to opt against continuing with Katie's services. We chose not to resume training in Spring 2023, viewing the financial investment of $850 for six sessions (but only received 1) as a contribution to her company. Although we had wished for success, we recognized that the discrepancies between expectations and reality were insurmountable. Our experience underscores the importance of clear expectations and communication in business relationships. Sharing our story, we hope others can learn from it, promoting effective interactions and mutual understanding. While these principles might seem evident, our journey with Alpha Obedience Dog Training reinforces their pivotal role. In conclusion, despite not achieving our desired outcome, we harbor no regrets. Our experience serves as a lesson in aligning expectations to foster better collaboration and prevent misunderstandings. We encourage all to communicate expectations openly when engaging in business relationships, allowing for clearer understanding and successful outcomes.
