Absolutely shocked at the functioning of the Buckingham. My review is pretty much like the prior review of long response time. Instead of minutes it can be hours. Gave 1 star because there are a few good nurses. I have requested to meet with the executive director times, to no avail.

The Buckingham took excellent care of a family member after some major surgery. The staff and administration are truly caring! I would recommend anyone to The Buckingham if they or a loved one need skilled nursing or any other long-term care.

This review is specifically for the skilled nursing facility. What a mess - missed medications, left in bed for 14 hours each night, nonexistent communication. Unfortunately I feel many others are actually worse and that's the scary part.
*** this next section was written after the Bucking ham replied - I generally don't like or leave long-winded reviews but felt I needed to expand based on their reply ****
I have texted Maria and sent two emails. (not today, yesterday) All have gone unanswered. She did have a conversation with here in our late 3rd week of being there. She told me that it was required my state regulation to have a meeting with 48-72 hours of admission to discuss current state, prelim PT plan and even prelim discharge goals - that meeting never occurred. We didn't even know there were social workers., or their purpose until the third week. We visited our mother *every* day - we were accessible and not absentee family. We had *zero* meetings with your social workers in almost 5 weeks of her being there. One meeting did get scheduled (in the third week after we ambushed the soc workers in their offices) only to have the social worker not show up to that meeting. She said the Buckingham had "failed" - her word. She talked a good game but after such an admissions failure, she let the discharge process fail just as grandly.
Over the last 3 weeks I have also left multiple voicemails for Faith, Gloria and Ashley (Ashley is in admissions) - no one returned my calls.
My mother takes 5 prescription medicines - 3 of those are Afib or Blood Pressure related. We were discharged with several days of 2 medicines, 1 day of another and none of the the other two. I received 4 calls in the week prior to discharge, all asking me what pharmacy. Well, we went to that pharmacy at 3:30 Pm on the day of the 10:30 AM discharge. None were called in. We had her primary care physician call them in late in the day.
I didn't intend on getting detailed in this review, only what I intially wrote. If you're going answer with the same line I got many times of "oh, please call so-and-so" only to find they never return any calls", then sure - we can discuss this in more detail. I meant what I originally wrote - you're probably far from the worst of these places and that's what's scary.
You sure answered this quickly - like within an hour. If you channeled that type of effort to the patients/residents maybe things would be better.
