This is my third college I've gone too and while I will graduate from here, safe to say it is the least put together college of the 3, and I largely regret deciding to finish my degree plan here. The campus is nice the professors are fine, 100% of my problems come from being financial aid and the VA office that seems to do little to nothing to actually help veterans. Of the 3 semester I've taken so far, I have had to hound the VA office to do things and as of the time of this, they failed to even submit my classes from last semester to the VA for billing (meaning I'm in the hole 5 grand). For veterans looking for guidance with benefits, go somewhere else. I have had issues every semester and am entering my last semester with a combative mentality that I am going to have to hold their VA offices hand to make sure I'm not completely screwed over. The Financial aid department also screwed me by marking me out of state tuition and are making me jump through paperwork hurdles, or beg the VA to apply my waivers, when they should have had me in state the whole time. No other college I have attended has made me do so much fighting for myself to get the minimum, and if not for me reaching out to San Jacinto Community College, id also have been completely left in the dark about a slew of veterans benefits that this office doesn't seem to have ever heard of. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE VETERANS.

Don't go here. All I read and hear is problems here. It is so expensive for half the care and quality of san jac. The teachers could careless, you will teach yourself most classes and if you are stem like me you should start looking for another university. Most stem classes are taught by the same 4 teachers. If you plan to do coding get ready to tech yourself programming, take mid term reviews that have nothing to do with the test themselves, and professor locher acts like she cares, but doesn't. I asked for one on one help with her and she seemed annoyed I was interrupting her email time and still didn't help me learn anything. I am taking this class for the third time paying out of pocket and see no hope for my future now.

There was a problem with my loan not applying to my tuition and we clarified the problem earlier this year. When I looked up information about remaining balances it said the credits from the remaining balance wouldn’t be counted but nothing about them sending it to collections. Nor was this ever mentioned when I emailed or called. Then I obviously couldn’t take classes while saving for the remaining balance and I didn’t look at the student email because if I’m not enrolled why would I? I received a letter in the mail saying they sent my balance to collections and went to email someone and then saw the emails about it being sent to collections. If it is time sensitive information why would they not call the number on file? When I checked my balance it was still there so I don’t understand what sending it to collections does but add more fees and make it more difficult to pay off. The person I emailed couldn’t have cared less and was cold about the emails sent. I just think if it is TIME SENSITIVE INFORMATION why would you NOT call the number to inform the person? Do these people want you to graduate or do they only care about money? Like thanks! Now I have $500 of added fees on top of the remaining balance I was saving up to pay off (obviously I was going to pay this I literally am so close to finishing??) barring me from getting my degree. This is just my review about SBS not even mentioning the problems with advisors and limited classes.
