Matt is amazing! A few years ago, I purchased an overcoat that never quite fit me right. I searched for tailors on Yelp, and Matt was the first to respond within minutes. I was able to make an appointment for the next day. When I arrived, I told him the timeframe I needed my coat back, and he assured me it wouldn’t be a problem. Matt explained his tailor process seamlessly and answered any questions I had. When I arrived to pick up my coat, the fit was immaculate, and I received a lot of compliments when I wore it in Vancouver. Every man needs a tailor, and I’m glad I finally found mine.

I wish I could be a happy customer, unfortunately, I have to side with the reviewers with low ratings. I brought a Burberry classic trench coat to shorten the sleeves and took in the shoulder. When I was dropping off, I asked many times if there will be any needle holes from relocacting the sleeve belt loop. The owner reassured “don’t worry, there won’t be any holes”. I left with much confidence that this place provides quality work. It was a happy story until I came to pick it up.
When I saw the alteration, I was in shock. How could this place be called “luxury and quality work”?! The sleeve belt loops are crooked and misplaced, and there’re obviously needle holes. This is totally unacceptable for any alteration jobs, needless to say it’s a $2000 designer clothing. The owner offered to make things right, and I waited while it’s being fixed. I waited over an hour, it’s still hasn’t been finished. I left and picked up later. When I came back, the sleeve belt loops look fine. Then I noticed that the loops were only stitched at the ends, not as a square as it should be. I asked to have it fixed again. 2 minutes later, I was disappointed to say the very least. Sloppy quality. Loose threads everywhere. I was so upset and mad. I was worried the garment will get ruined from too many bad alterations. Out of holiday spirit, I still paid the full alteration fee ($170). If i went to the boutique or department store for alteration, I would request a full refund.
When I got home, the threads from one of the sleeve belt loops started to come out, and I noticed the fabric was damaged at two places near the sleeve inseam (visible).
I was too naive to believe they could do quality work since it’s a “luxury custom tailor shop” and the owner was so nice when I first came.
Huge mistake. If you are fine with below average, sloppy alteration quality, this place is probably okay. The sleeve work they have done on my trench coat was unacceptable. If it were my work, I would be totally embarrassed.
A picture equals 1000 words. The bright colored photos were taken when I first came to pick it up. The low light photos were taken when i was back home after it were fixed twice.

I have searched for many tailors throughout Houston and always was left unimpressed. Bob at Imparali was the tailor that broke that streak. He was extremely friendly, professional, and did his utmost to make us happy. On top of that, he is extremely talented at his craft in both classic and modern tastes. GO SEE HIM! You will not regret it.

My husband bought a shirt from Imparali for our daughter’s wedding. It was terribly wrinkled so he couldn’t wear it. We took it to the dry cleaners to have them try to iron it. They could not get the wrinkles out. Additionally, the shirt did not have the initials monogrammed on the cuff so we took it back. After a year, he finally picked up the shirt today. It was still wrinkled! The manager said that he had also tried several times to get the wrinkles out and that it must be bad fabric. There was no offer to remake the shirt. Instead, he said that he would just have to throw out that book. Do not go here for custom clothing. The product and service are deplorable.
